- Water ¼ cup
- Brown sugar 3 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce (light, regular) 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil (toasted) 1 teaspoon
- Chili flakes (or more) ½ teaspoon
- Ginger powder ¼ teaspoon
- Garlic cloves (minced) 2
Mix together water, brown sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, cornstarch, toasted sesame oil, chili flakes, ginger powder, minced garlic, and in a small bowl until well combined and free of lumps.
Transfer the mixture to a pan and heat it while stirring until it starts boiling. Reduce the heat and continue simmering and stirring until the sauce thickens to the consistency you prefer.
Take the pan off the heat and let the sauce cool down before transferring it to a storage container.
Drizzle the sauce over your freshly made Asian zing chicken wings. Enjoy!
- You can customize the heat level according to your preference by adding or reducing the amount of chili flakes.
- In case you have a preference for a sauce with a sweeter taste, you can add extra brown sugar or any other sweetening agent of your choice.
- If the sauce happens to be too thick, you can make it thinner by adding a small amount of water.
