- Aunt Jemima enriched yellow cornmeal 1 cup
- All-purpose flour 1 cup
- Milk 1 cup
- Vegetable oil ¼ cup
- Sugar 3 tablespoons
- Baking powder 4 teaspoons
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Egg 1
Make sure your oven is preheated to 425 degrees Fahrenheit before continuing.
Take a large mixing bowl and mix together cornmeal, sugar, flour, salt, and baking powder.
Whisk together the milk, egg, and oil in a separate bowl, and then add the mixture to the dry ingredients. Beat until smooth, which should take approximately 1 minute.
Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan and pour the mixture into it. Bake for 25 minutes. Check if it's done by inserting a toothpick into the center of the bread.
Once done, remove it from the oven, let it cool down for 10 minutes, and serve it hot.
