Equipment

  • A large mixing bowl
  • A can opener
  • A chopping board
  • A sharp knife
  • A stirring spoon

Ingredients

  • Tuna in water (drained) 2 cans
  • Mayonnaise ¼ cup
  • Celery (finely chopped) ¼ cup
  • Onions (finely chopped) 1 tablespoon
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves (optional) for serving
  • Freshly baked bread (optional)

Instructions

  • Start by draining the tuna well. You want to get rid of as much liquid as possible to prevent your salad from becoming too runny.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, finely chopped celery, and onions.
  • Blend thoroughly until all the ingredients are seamlessly combined. You can adjust the creaminess of your salad by adding more or less mayonnaise.
  • Season your Jimmy Johns tuna salad with salt and black pepper to taste. Make sure you mix it well.
  • Serve your tuna salad on fresh lettuce leaves for a low-carb option, or spread it generously on freshly baked bread to make a tasty sandwich.

Notes

  • Use a food processor to make your Jimmy Johns tuna salad even creamier.
  • You can add other veggies such as bell peppers or shredded carrots to your tuna salad for extra crunch and color.
  • Try substituting mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a healthier twist to the Jimmy Johns tuna salad recipe.
  • The beauty of making it at home is that you can adjust the recipe to your liking.
  • Tuna salad tastes best when chilled. After mixing your salad, cover and refrigerate it for at least an hour before serving.
