Before you fire up the wok for your Subgum Fried Rice Recipe, make sure all your ingredients are chopped, measured, and ready to go. This fast-moving recipe doesn’t wait for anyone!
Swirl the vegetable oil in a heated wok, ensuring it coats the surface evenly. This is key to preventing the ingredients from sticking and ensures perfect frying.
Add the onions and garlic first. Fry them until they’re just golden, which releases their aroma and sweetens them up.
Toss in the mixed vegetables and stir for about two minutes. Then push everything to the side, pour in the beaten eggs into the cleared space, and scramble.
Add the rice, breaking any clumps with the back of your spatula. Drizzle soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil over it, then mix everything thoroughly.
Add the diced bell pepper and cashews, giving everything a good toss for an additional two minutes. The cashews add a lovely crunch and nutty flavor.
- Utilize chilled, day-old rice to prevent your dish from becoming mushy. The firm grains ensure each piece stays distinct and flavorful.
- Always cook on high heat to replicate the authentic stir-fry flavor and texture, sealing in the freshness and taste of the ingredients
- This Subgum Fried Rice Recipe is highly adaptable. Feel free to substitute any vegetables you prefer or add different proteins to suit your taste.
- Add sesame oil last to preserve its delicate flavor and aroma, enhancing the overall taste profile of your fried rice.
- Always taste your dish as you cook. Adjust the seasoning with additional soy sauce or a pinch of salt if necessary to perfectly balance the flavors.
