Equipment

  • Teppanyaki grill or large flat skillet
  • Tongs
  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring spoons and cups
  • Chef's knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Serving platter

Ingredients

  • Boneless, skinless chicken breasts 4
  • Soy sauce 2 tablespoons
  • Mirin (rice wine) 2 tablespoons
  • Finely grated ginger 1 tablespoon
  • Cloves garlic, minced 2
  • Vegetable oil 2 tablespoons
  • Green onion, finely chopped (for garnish) 1
  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional) 1 tablespoon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Begin by slicing your chicken breasts into thin, even strips for quick and even cooking on the teppanyaki grill.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create your marinade.
  • Add the chicken strips into the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your teppanyaki grill plate or griddle over medium heat. Brush it with vegetable oil.
  • Once heated, place the marinated chicken strips onto the grill. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  • Season with salt and pepper as desired.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and, if desired, toasted sesame seeds.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your Teppanyaki Chicken Recipe masterpiece!

Notes

  • The longer you marinate the chicken, the more flavors it will absorb. Overnight marination works wonders!
  • Ensure your grill plate is adequately heated before placing the chicken to get that perfect sear.
  • Always ensure the chicken is fully cooked to avoid any foodborne illnesses.
  • Adjust the soy sauce according to your salt preference.
  • You can replace vegetable oil with sesame oil for an enhanced flavor profile.
  • If you can't find mirin, a mix of honey and white wine can act as a substitute.
